While there are many agile methodologies, OST has a particular expertise with SAFe, or Scaled Agile Framework for Enterprise. SAFe is the model we will use to deliver our work as it allows for synchronization of planning, alignment, collaboration and delivery across multiple teams. It’s a proven framework often used in complex corporate structures to identify risks and cross-team dependencies early on.​

Courses we offer:

SAFe For Teams – SAFe Practitioner (SP)

For Lean-Agile team members or anyone seeking an understanding of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).  Provides an overview of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and an understanding of the Agile Release Train (ART) with the focus on the Team level.

Topics include:

• SAFe Principles and the "Why" behind adopting SAFe
• Understanding of SAFe Roles
• Explanation of Ceremonies
• User Stories vs. Features
• Story Point Estimating
• Program Increment Planning and Execution

SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM)

For Product Owners and Product Managers to apply Lean-Agile values and principles, understand economic prioritization, and develop skills writing Features and user stories within the context of SAFe.  Develops Product Owners and Product Managers to fully understand their roles and become more effective in their roles.  Demonstrates how the roles of Product Owner, Product Manager, Solution Manager, and Epic Owner drive the delivery of value in the SAFe enterprise.

SAFe PO/PMs enable product development flow, drive program execution, and operate in the enterprise to drive the continuous delivery of value.

Leading SAFe – SAFe Agilist (SA)

For leaders of a Lean-Agile change initiative to help them develop a Lean-Agile Mindset and apply the principles and practices of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). Provides an understanding of the role of Leaders within SAFe as well as an understanding of the activities that must happen at the Program Level and above to ensure alignment and keep the Release Train on the tracks. Includes discussion about how to shift from a traditional mindset to become a servant leader within an Agile organization.

SAFe Scrum Master (SSM)

For Scrum Masters learning about their role.  Provides an understanding of the role of Scrum Master in a SAFe enterprise. Not only is team-level Scrum explained, but this class also explores the role of Scrum in the context of the entire enterprise, preparing a Scrum Master to guide the team to successfully plan and execute the Program Increment (PI).  Scrum Masters learn to facilitate Team and Program Level events for successful program execution.  There is an emphasis on how to build high performing Agile teams by becoming a servant leader and coach and how to coach those teams to deliver the maximum business value that is achievable.

SAFe Advanced Scrum Master (SASM)

For SAFe Scrum Masters or equivalent responsible for program execution. Prepares current Scrum Masters for their leadership role in facilitating Agile team, program, and enterprise success within a SAFe implementation. Covers facilitation of cross-team interactions in support of the program execution and relentless improvement. Introduces SAFe DevOps practices and discusses the application of Kanban to facilitate the flow of value.  Examines supporting interactions with architects, product management, and other critical stakeholders in the larger program and enterprise contexts. Explores practical ways of addressing Agile and Scrum anti-patterns in the enterprise.

SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE)

For SAFe Release Train Engineers (RTEs) to enhance their knowledge and skills as a servant leader and coach, effectively plan and execute a PI Planning event, foster relentless improvement in their enterprise, and continue their learning journey. SAFe RTEs can facilitate and enable end-to-end value delivery through ARTs and large solutions in an enterprise SAFe environment.

SAFe DevOps (SDO)

For anyone needing a better understanding of the DevOps concept within a SAFe environment.  Delivers a comprehensive overview for understanding the DevOps skills needed to accelerate time-to-market by improving the flow of value through the Continuous Delivery Pipeline.
